The Garrick Inn is a traditional black and white pub which dates back to the 14th Century. Harvard House was built in 1596 by Thomas Rogers whose grandson, John Harvard, emigrated to America in 1637 and left money in his will to help found a college in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which later became Harvard University.
